As a part of looking over the prices, you
may wonder why, or how, we can offer a high quality gold plating system for so
little money.
We prefer to look at it in a different
way. We have listed all of the items we include, along with realistic individual
prices for each item.
What we can not understand is why, or how,
our competitors can charge so much and offer so little.
As you view the list above, realize American Gold
does not include any of the HIGH PROFIT EXTRAS that are not necessary for the Gold
Plating Process. We do include everything you will need to start a Gold Plating business.
As you do your Price Shopping, remember several
important items. Different Gold Plating Systems are sold at different prices. Making a
equal comparison between systems may be confusing
As an example, we were looking to purchase a Color
Ink Jet Printer recently. Prices on color ink jet printers ranged from $100 up. Was $100 a
good price for the value of the printer? Unless you know what you are actually getting
price is not important. As it turned out the $100 printer was not the best buy.
We have plenty of Laser Printers along with 2
Black ink, ink-jet printers. We wanted to have a color ink jet printer. We shopped the
market extensively. After quite a period of shopping, we decided that the HP 722C COLOR
INK JET PRINTER was the printer we wanted.
We knew the quality and value of the HP 722C COLOR

you will usually not see a lot of similarities. Meaning, you can not shop on price alone.

Since the question has come up on a few occasions,
the reasons for our not including several common items is simple. As stated above,
American Gold does not include any of the HIGH PROFIT EXTRAS that are not necessary
for the Gold Plating Process. We do include everything you will need to start a Gold
Plating business.
A rolling seat for you to sit on is one example.
First, you may already have a rolling seat, or can purchase one in your local market for
little money. Plus, there are several different designs with different levels of padding.
It simply does not make sense for us to include what you may already have. If we do, we
increase our costs of inventory, as well as increase your costs by potential duplication
and you would have to pay the freight to have it shipped to you. That does not make sense
to us. In addition, we do not suggest you have your power supply built into your seat, and
clearly suggest against having the chemicals mounted under your seat so the assorted
chemicals fumes can collect below you. We use a folding wooden chair, it works great,
folds almost flat for transportation and storage, all of which makes sense, particularly
for a mobile Gold Plating operation..
If you need a rolling seat check out an Auto Parts
Store in your area. They have them in several different designs with different levels of
padding.
Another example of an item we do not include is a
stainless steel grounding tray to fit in the drain pan. Although the greatest majority of
the items you are likely to gold plate are the scripts and emblems on assorted vehicles
(Cars, Trucks Boats, Airplanes and so on) there are times when you will work on small
items. It is conceivable that you would work over your Drain Pan on these items. That is
how we do it. The common procedure is to wear the gloves provided with your Gold Plating
System and do the Gold Plating work while holding the piece in your hands. It is quite
easy to hold one of the electrical connections to the piece, as you are working the piece
with the electrode covered with the synthetic wrap. This is quite common, and feels right
too. If you think of it, there is no need to have a stainless steel grounding tray. To be
FAIR, there is a benefit to having a stainless steel grounding tray in the drain pan IF
you are working at a Trade Show or similar place, to sell Gold Plating Systems. In a Trade
Show, the bright Stainless Steel is attractive. Plus, when they gold plate coins, it is
easy to have the coin resting on the drain pan. Having the coin on the grounding tray does
make part of the electrical circuit. Although, from a practical standpoint, few people, if
any, will pay you real money to gold plate a coin. Using a grounding tray also makes it
look as if gold plating is as easy was waiving a wand over the piece.
If you feel you need a stainless steel grounding
tray, try starting without one, others have started without one and then realized a
grounding tray is not necessary. Once you start to do the Gold Plating, you will learn
quickly that it is not really necessary too. However, if you find it is absolutely
necessary, we can purchase one for you and ship it to you.
What is the warranty? Any buyer of an item has a
concern over the warranty. I recall driving through Lansing Michigan recently. I happened
to pass by a closed (out of business) computer store. When they were in operation I had
stopped in on several different times to see if they had items I could use. I always
purchased a used NEC Spinwriter printer when I found them at affordable prices since we
had so many in the office at the time. I recalled the place had high prices on their
computers. As time passed they offered a LIFETIME GUARANTEE to encourage people to buy
from them. After all, they were offering a LIFETIME GUARANTEE. Since they are out of
business, the LIFETIME GUARANTEE is worthless.
Hewlett Packard is a large and well known company.
They have numerous company locations throughout the US. Hewlett Packard has produced
assorted Laser Printers for years. The Hewlett Packard Replacement Laser Cartridges and
Ink Jet Cartridges are sold in a broad-based number of Office Supply Locations, Wal-Mart,
Computer Stores, and assorted Mail Order suppliers listed in countless number of Computer
Magazines. Clearly, Hewlett Packard is a substantial company and quite able to back up a
warranty to you.
The Warranty on the HP 722C COLOR INK JET PRINTER
was set by Hewlett Packard at ONE YEAR.
If a well known, and well established company, like
Hewlett Packard only gives a ONE-YEAR Warranty on a piece of equipment, should you
question a LIFETIME WARRANTY from some other supplier?
The Solid Stainless Steel Plating Handle and Solid
Stainless Steel electrodes have a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The idea of a Limited Lifetime Warranty is this. We
can not guarantee you will not lose your Solid Stainless Steel Plating Handle and Solid
Stainless Steel electrodes but we are confident you can not break Solid Stainless Steel
Plating Handle and Solid Stainless Steel electrodes.
We construct the Solid Stainless Steel Plating
Handle and Solid Stainless Steel electrodes out of high quality solid stainless steel
rods. The Handle is made out of a 1/2 inch Solid Stainless Steel rod. The electrode is
made out of a 1/4 inch Solid Stainless Steel rod.
What about Titanium electrodes? Titanium is very
expensive and not worth the added cost to you, particularly since the solid stainless
steel works so well. We can add the Titanium electrodes, which will increase your costs
without increasing the value of the Gold Plating System.
What about Graphite electrodes? No one has ever
broken a solid stainless steel electrode.
American Gold supplies the Solid Stainless Steel
Plating Handles and electrodes, electrode wraps, Chrome Stripper chemical, Nickel
Activator Chemical and the Gold Plating Solutions.
Each American Gold chemical has a specific formula
combining HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS and the ACCESSORY CHEMICALS to insure your success. Please
be sure to REorder chemicals before you run out. Because the chemicals MUST Ship as
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, shipping delays can occur and or AIR SHIPPING can substantially
increase your cost.
On the subject of the Gold Plating Solutions, we mix

We offer three quality grades of Gold Plating
solutions for the Automotive market.
GOOD - BETTER - BEST
We strongly suggest you purchase our
BEST GRADE since it has the most gold in the solution that we offer for Automotive
applications. However, if PRICE is a concern, we do offer two lower grades of gold plating
solution, with less gold in the solution, that will Gold Plate, although slower.
Since we do the actual mixing in
Reading, we can mix you a 4 ounce container of our BEST GRADE of Gold Plating Solution at
$125 or a 32 ounce container of a Gold Plating Solution for $125.
What is the difference between the two.
The amount of actual gold in the
solution! Because of the extra cost of the base mixture in the 32 ounce container, you
will probably not get as much real gold in the 32 ounce container as you would in the 4
ounce container. Plus, it will take you as much as 8 times as long (4 ounces versus 32
ounces is a multiple factor of 8) as long to get the gold out of the solution in the 32
ounce container.
The smart buy is the BEST GRADE of
American Gold's Gold Plating Solution, which is why we ship the BEST GRADE with all new
Gold Plating Systems.
The balance of the items in the Gold Plating System
are CONSUMABLE and you should be able to find them in your area. We include them, at cost,
in the Gold Plating System because you do not know what to get to start with. Once you
know, you will be able to find the replacement items in your local area. From
time to time, we can get a deal on an item so we may pay a bit less (usually pennies).
Other times, we have to pay a bit more. To make it simple, we used prices rounded off to
the nearest whole dollar on the list above. On top of that, we offer a discounted price on
the Gold Plating System purchase.

Buying locally will lower your cost and cut out shipping expenses. If you are unable to
find the replacement components in your area, please call American Gold. We are here to

The chemicals used in the Gold Plating process
contain HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. Proper disposal of Hazardous Materials is important. As a
mobile gold plater, you will accumulate a small amount of Hazardous Materials from each
gold plating job. Since most of the accumulation is rinse water run off, it will
evaporate. You can store this limited amount of Hazardous Materials waste in a plastic 55
gallon drum. When you fill the drum, which is estimated to take you between 800 and 1000
gold plating jobs, there are services who will haul the Hazardous Materials away for
proper disposal. There are a number of such services in business today. We do not know who
will be the best choice for you in your area when you are finally ready to call for
disposal, 800 to 1000 gold plating jobs from now. When you get to the point of
needing a Hazardous Materials Disposal, you will be able to find a company who will
properly dispose of the materials.
