BLACK CHROME - BLACK PEARL PLATING

What some people call Black Chrome is called Black Pearl by others. This type of plating represented a very small part of the overall plating that is going on today.

The biggest part of the plating that is going on remains the 24K Gold Plating as a DRESS UP accessory for vehicles.

At one point, some of the number of OEM Vehicles came with the so called Black Chrome - Black Pearl, and that created some interest on the part of individual gold platers to offer this service.

What created problems was the warranty issues that started to come up as this was not a durable coating. The OEM Vehicles stopped offering the Black Chrome - Black Pearl colored scripts and emblems on their vehicles.

A company we did business with, on a limited basis, offered a Black Chrome - Black Pearl plating solution and some time ago stopped offering it. We expect that it was due to Warranty problems as this was not a durable coating.

The very limited requests we hear about these days goes back to vehicles that were in an accident and the consumer wants to replace an emblem that was initially done in Black Chrome - Black Pearl.

If you can find a person who still has some supplies, they might be able to do the work for you. We do not know of anyone who does this work, reliably, anymore. Beyond the difficulty in finding a person to do the work, it seems unwise to do a job that is going to be a WARRANTY PROBLEM in the future.
