CONTAMINATION FROM STAINLESS STEEL ELECTRODES

As far as contaminating your chemicals by using Stainless Steel electrodes, it simply is not a problem.

We provide TOP QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL wands and plating pens. You can find images of them on our order blank. We give a lifetime warranty (which does not cover loss) on them. If we could find a better material, we would use it.

In a MOBILE / BRUSH TYPE SYSTEM, the chemicals are always refreshed from the off site storage container into the on-site chemical container. The constant introduction of fresh chemicals eliminates chemical contamination, or damage to any piece you are gold plating.

After extremely extensive use, meaning used for many hours each day, every day of every week, you may begin to see some wear in the stainless steel electrode. However, even with this extremely extensive use, the minimal change in properties of the stainless steel electrode over time, is insignificant because you are constantly adding fresh chemicals.

If you were Gold Plating using a TANK PLATING SYSTEM, you would probably still use STAINLESS STEEL electrodes. In the instance of using stainless steel electrodes in your tank system you would pull the electrodes out of the tanks (there are a minimum of 6 tanks in a typical operation) when you were not plating.

The idea of a tank plating operation opens up a totally different aspect. In a Tank Plating system, you are reusing the chemicals time after time. In the instance, of tank platting the chemicals may accumulate a wide assortment of irregularities of chemicals. In tank plating, when you move the item being plated from one tank to another you have to deal with bringing in any DRAG OUT of chemicals from one tank to another, or from an accumulation of impurities from one tank to  another.

This is regularly and frequently checked by sending samples to a Laboratory for analysis. This is done on a daily basis by tank platers all over the world.

Within a BRUSH TYPE GOLD PLATING SYSTEM the chemicals are basically consumed in the Gold Plating process. The extremely small amount of chemicals in the JOB SITE CONTAINERS makes contamination problems a far smaller concern. And, in the unlikely event you do contaminate the chemicals in the JOB SITE CONTAINERS, it would not contaminate your storage containers.

In any event, not enough iron comes out of the stainless steel during any brush plating session, or sessions, to contaminate anything. You are always adding more gold, and occasionally, you have to replace the bootie (cloth electrode cover) so if there were any impurities that accumulated, you would automatically remove them.

Since we offer a lifetime guarantee on our Stainless Steel Electrodes, if our customers were wearing them out, we would  be replacing them all the time.  We are not because it is not a problem.

Why would a person want to make a big deal over stainless steel contamination when it is not a realistic problem in brush plating? Probably because they are selling a different type of electrode and want to benefit from creating a confusion.

As we have stated above, "we provide TOP QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL wands and plating pens" You simply can not imagine how difficult it is to drill STAINLESS STEEL ROD or to tap the holes in the rods. However, you will see the quality of the piece as soon as you see one.

If a TITANIUM gold plating electrode made for a better plating job in mobile / brush plating, we could easily get them for you. However, no scientific evidence exists to show any contamination from quality materials, such as we provide.
