The FIRST LEVEL gives you the most information and gives you a direction that you may, or may not, choose to use.

As a BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, Gold Plating of Automotive items offers an ideal source of PART-TIME income with a low initial start up costs. This Business Opportunity does not have FRANCHISE FEES and or ROYALTY FEES. You can grow at your pace.

GOLD PLATING can develop into FULL TIME WORK, over time.

EXACTLY WHAT IS GOLD PLATED ON VEHICLES?

Gold Plating of Automotive SCRIPTS, HOOD ORNAMENTS, TRUNK DECK LOCKS, GRILLS, WHEELS, and so on, is common in a growing number of areas.

Typically, the descriptive words on a vehicle are what people Gold Plate. Words such as "Cadillac, Toyota, Lincoln" and so on. Plus specific model designations such as "SedanDeVille, DeVille, Continental, DX, LX, ETC" and so on.

In the trade, these are called either SCRIPTS because they were commonly done in a script writing style.

Emblems are slightly different but the words have become interchangeable in the descriptions of the items people gold plate.

Gold Plating the Hood Ornaments were very popular on Cadillac vehicles as well as a number of Lincoln Vehicles. May new vehicles do not have a Hood Ornament. Others do not have the Trunk Lock Cover like the older luxury cars did.

The primary prospect for Gold Plating is the gold plating of the scripts and emblems on the vehicles.

Larger items such as Grills or Wheels are occasionally gold plated. However, this is usually done in a tank plating system. As the name implies, there are an assortment of LARGE 33 GALLON tanks and this system requires a substantially larger investment in equipment, supplies, plus a suitable building to hold all of the equipment. Tank Plating is profitable. However, tank plating is not as logical as the broader based "BRUSH PLATING" is, for most people. Tank plating is a three (3) step process, with at least three rinse steps.

That should give you a basic idea of the items on a vehicle that are Gold Plated.

GOLD PLATING HISTORY.

Several items of a HISTORICAL NATURE to point out. This historical information will help you understand the market and marketplace of Gold Plating within the Automotive Industry.

The initial popularity of Gold Plating was on the Luxury Vehicles. Particularly CADILLAC. Later, some Lincoln vehicles. In the past, the common way to get the scripts gold plated was to remove the scripts from the vehicle, along with the Hood Ornaments and Trunk Lock Covers, if any.

The Car Dealer or assorted companies servicing Car Dealers would send the scripts in to one of a multiple number of companies to have the chrome scripts Gold Plated in the TANK PLATING system and returned to the Car Dealer or Car Dealer servicing company. Finally, the scripts would go back onto the vehicle. As you can expect this would take time with the shipping periods and the actual time it took to do the gold plating.

It was common for the Car Dealer or the companies servicing Car Dealers to OWN one or more sets of scripts as CORES. The Car Dealer or the Car Dealers servicing company would have the CORES already Gold Plated.

When they needed to install a GOLD PACKAGE on a Cadillac, they already have the CORE Gold Plated. It was a simple matter of removing the chrome scripts on the vehicle and replacing them with the Gold Plated Scripts they had, IN-STOCK.

The actual job of removing the chrome script/emblem and replacing them with GOLD PLATED CORES was FAST. And, if you are servicing one car brand, such as Cadillac, the time saved by having GOLD PLATED CORES in your service vehicle, can more than off set the minimal difference in cost between your doing the work or having TANK PLATED CORES ready to go.

Then, they would take the chrome scripts they removed and send them in for Gold Plating. Occasionally, the person removing the chrome scripts, would break one of the chrome scripts and need to have a replacement. This added to the cost.

If a location did a lot of Gold Packages, they would keep a number of script sets already Gold Plated, IN-STOCK.

As a part of the service of gold plating the chrome scripts, the gold plating company had to scrape the adhesive backings off of the scripts that were removed from the vehicles. To get the adhesive backing material off of the scripts was, and still is, a time consuming process.

Then, the gold plating company had to reattach a new BACKING on the script. The OLD BACKING was not acceptable because it was always damaged when the script was removed from the vehicle.

Getting NEW BACKINGS added an expense for the TANK TYPE gold plating company. The TANK TYPE gold plating company may have purchased an expensive DIE to cut the backings out of backing material with adhesive on it and release paper.

Each separate script required its own special backing die. This is a cost of doing business. The point of the cost and the general focus on Cadillac vehicles hinges on several points.

  • First, a Cadillac was a TOP OF THE LINE Vehicle.
  • Second, many Cadillac scripts remained the same for different models and different model years. One DIE investment could go a long way.
  • Gold seemed appropriate on the Cadillac vehicle.
  • And, to the extent Cadillac was popular, the gold plating company would spend money to have the dies made and be able to use the expensive dies for years and years.

If you wanted to have a script from another vehicle plated, getting backings was a problem. It was common in the industry to work with a sharp razor knife to cut out the backings manually. This extra manual process was time consuming, very tedious and accordingly, expensive.

Getting employees to do the work of cutting special vehicle backings, was a problem. Cuts on hands was, and still is, an occupational hazard of TANK PLATING SCRIPTS for non common vehicles. It was, and is, hard work and errors could damage the chrome script which increased the gold plating companies costs and cut into the profits.

That was back in the early 1990's. The Gold Plating market changed with the introduction of the mobile "brush type Gold Plating" machines in 1992, because virtually anyone could turn the chrome scripts on the vehicles to gold, WITHOUT removing them from the vehicle. This changed everything.

  • The TIME DELAY in removing, shipping, plating, reshipping and installation, dropped off. The time savings was particularly important for restylers / detailers who had a wide assortment of vehicles who could drive in and want to have Gold plating done, NOW.
  • The concern over BACKINGS ended when the work was done on the vehicle.
  • The loss of profit because of broken pieces stopped when the work was done on the vehicle.
  • The ability to quickly gold plate a variety of vehicles started when the work was done while the chrome scripts were turned to gold while the scripts were still on the vehicle.

It is fair to say that there are New Car Dealers today who still send scripts out to be Gold Plated in the Tank Plating system.

It is fair to say that there are New Car Dealers today who do their own Gold Plating.

  • There are regular advertisements in CAR DEALER TRADE publications offering Gold Plating Systems direct to the New and Used Car Dealers.
  • It is fair to say there is still a market for you to make money offering Gold Plating.

New Car Dealers sold Rustproofing back in the Early 1970's. Ziebart was selling Rustproofing back then too. Today, both still exist. Ziebart has expanded their offerings of services to the New Car and used Vehicle owner.

Back in the early 1970's the Ziebart Franchises made a living by doing the Rustproofing on vehicles where the New Car Dealers did not get the sale to the New Car Buyer. Today, you have the same type of potential to make money by Gold Plating the scripts and emblems on NEW CARS as well as a wide variety of other chrome surfaces.

The individual who is a NEW and or USED Vehicle owner, will make up your list of prospects and customers.

Plus, RUSTPROOFING which comes with a WARRANTY, (particularly common in the rust belt) was limited to sales to NEW VEHICLE owners and USED vehicles less than a few years old.

Gold Plating is popular on vehicles of all ages. Older vehicles can occasionally provide a challenge to a Gold Plater, but it is still a money making opportunity to a broad base of people. We give complete details on how to do Gold Plating on the older vehicles as well as how to FIX worn gold.

MOBILE Gold Plating has grown dramatically in popularity in the few years since it started in 1992. There are literally hundreds of these types of MOBILE Gold Plating machines in use today, in virtually every State, Country and City within the USA and many Foreign Countries as well.

It is logical to say that the majority of them are in areas with a density of population. The more people you have in an area, the more vehicles they are likely to own and, potentially the greater the goal to be VAIN. Vanity sells.

I knew a person in Chicago who worked as a Limousine Driver and had a part time business of installing a number of aftermarket automotive accessories. The aftermarket accessories list he offered continued to grow.

At one point, this person had several cores of Gold Plated emblems that he sold to Toyota Dealers. The point is simple. this person kept his regular job and did Automotive Accessories on a PART TIME INCOME basis. He operated his office out of his apartment and his work vehicle was his personal car. The business grew from ZERO SALES to a two person operation in a few short years.

  • You can make money in Gold Plating.
  • Gold Plating is a good BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY.
  • However, you must be objective and realistic.
  • Do not get swept up into GOLD FEVER.

If you owned an automotive industry business like a profitable Detailing Shop or a profitable Customizing Shop, you would see a profit in about 30 days because as a Detailing or Customizing Shop owner, you would already have customers coming to you for work.

Gold Plating of Automotive SCRIPTS, HOOD ORNAMENTS, TRUNK DECK LOCKS and so on, are the most common items to Gold Plate in a growing number of areas.

The descriptive words on a vehicle, such as "Cadillac, Toyota, Lincoln" and so on are the scripts. Plus specific model designations such as "SedanDeVille, DeVille, Continental, DX, LX, ETC" and so on.

EMBLEMS are different. In any event, the chrome adornments are what people pay to have Gold Plated.

The primary prospect for Gold Plating is the gold plating of the scripts and emblems on the vehicles. This is where the money is.

Larger items such as Grills or Wheels are occasionally gold plated. However, this is usually done in a tank plating system. As the name implies, there are an assortment of tanks and this system requires a substantially larger investment in equipment, supplies plus a suitable building to hold all of the equipment. Tank Plating is profitable. Tank plating is a three (3) step process.

That should give you a basic idea of the history of Gold Plating of scripts on vehicles.

  • To a point, you should realize by now that the primary market is to Gold Plate scripts on VEHICLES.
  • Because a "brush plating system" can do virtually any chrome scripts while the scripts are still on a vehicle, you can see where this widens the sales potential for you.
  • Although Car Dealers may already do the Gold Plating work or have another supplier who does the Gold Plating work, there is a potential for income.

WHAT ABOUT INCOME?

It is profitable to do Gold Plating. Without getting into exact details, saying it is profitable is enough for now.

How you have to go to the market of offering Gold Plating, and what that takes is important to point out.

Because you are in the FIRST LEVEL, you would fit into the category of an individual without much, if any, experience in the Automotive Industry. You do not have a restyling shop and or a detail shop and are unfamiliar with offering such services to consumers.

This is not unusual or uncommon. Everyone has to start at one point or another.

What is important to point out is you do not have any existing customers who come to you for Restyling Work or Customizing work on their vehicles now.

Before you can sell anything, you need to have people you can sell to.

Without an existing automotive accessory business with existing customers, it will take you time to develop your business.

  • If you do not live in a large city, your potential income will be smaller.
  • One person I know of in a town of just under 10,000 people, makes $3,000.00 a year, working part time. $3,000 is a nice supplement to his regular income. The $3,000 income paid off the entire start-up expense, and made a PROFIT too.

To determine the income potential, you can do research in your area. Where you live makes a difference.

  • If you live in a rural town of 10,000 or so, figure $3,000 is a fair amount of income on a part time basis.
  • If you live in a suburb of a larger city, you can figure you will make more, on a part time basis.
  • With Gold Plating, you can start part time and expand when your sales are such that you are able to make enough money to survive.
  • Some people are in Colder climates and consider Gold plating as a "Seasonal Part-time Job."

For all practical purposes, New Car Dealers, in almost every area, have an assortment of businesses and individuals who own their own restyling business and or customizing business coming to the New Car Dealer to offer a wide variety of Services. Gold Plating, is just one of the services they usually offer.

One substantial restyler I know of in the New York City area owns several VEHICLE TRANSPORTERS. This company sends a vehicle transporter for vehicles, like the kind you see hauling vehicles to New Car Dealers on the highway. With the transporter, they can haul vehicles a long distance without adding miles to the NEW CAR. The transporter drops off a restyled vehicle or so and picks up other vehicles to be restyled and hauls them back to the shop for modification. This particular operator covers a 3 state area. This would qualify as a major "Car Dealer Service Company."

Many others I know of all over the US, drive the vehicles from the New Car Dealers in their local area to their shop to do the work on the vehicles and then drive them back. This would qualify as a "Car Dealer Service Company" too.

There are these types of companies all over the USA currently in operation servicing the New Car Dealers and some Used Car Dealers.

The "Car Dealers Service Company" I referred to earlier can offer a small amount of customizing of vehicles including installing Sunroofs, Simulated Convertible Tops, and many other customizing treatments for vehicles.

It is particularly hard for an individual to break into this type of competitive business atmosphere.

This is not to say it is impossible, it is to say it is probably an impracticable way for you to go to make any money with Gold Plating.

We would strongly suggest you keep your current job, and consider Gold Plating as a PART-TIME business while you build your own business and generate INCOME.

There is a potential opportunity for you to start a business of Gold Plating scripts on vehicles. You would have to start by "WORD OF MOUTH" in your area that you offer the service. I expect you would have to do the work in your garage or similar area. I know of some people who do the work OUTSIDE where they live in moderate temperature areas. If you are in colder climates, you will need to be able to get inside a structure to do the work.

You will need advertising and promotions. You will need to tell others about what you can do for them. It is reasonable to expect you will have under $250 wrapped up in producing business cards, letterhead, invoice books, POSTERS and so on. If you own the computer you are using to read this WEB PAGE, you can make use of an assortment of accounting programs to help you manage your business.

While we are not TAX ADVISORS, we would suggest you discuss the idea of running a business with a professional who can help you set up your business legally. The stories we hear say the IRS is particularly interested in individuals who claim BUSINESS USE OF A RESIDENCE as a TAX write off. We strongly suggest you consult with a TAX ADVISOR on this matter.

We strongly suggest you seek the assistance of a professional in your area to help you with that portion of setting up your business. A program called "Quick Books" from a company called "Quicken" may help you in processing your accounting and later the accounting information from within "quick books" may help you in filing your taxes through another program they sell called "Turbo Tax for Business."

You will be able to save the added expense of having a Restyling Shop, including RENT, plus added utilities plus some business insurance, if you work out of your house. The same may be true if you work out of your garage. Working out of your garage which you use exclusively for the purpose of running your business, may offer you a TAX DEDUCTION. However, with few sales and little profit, the IRS is not likely to accept a large write off. However, be sure to check with your TAX ADVISOR, we are not offering TAX ADVICE.

Based on your doing the work out of your house, it is likely the people will not want to pay you as much as they may be willing to pay a local Restyler or Customizer for the same work.

With the lower operational costs of working out of your house or garage, you may be able to accept the smaller income. However, remember, your time is valuable. And, cutting price means you are likely to find the Restyling Shop and Customizing Shop cutting their prices too. Eventually no one will make money.

A side benefit of going into the Gold Plating business on a small scale is your ability to grow into offering additional items at some point in the future.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT.

Your tax advisor should discuss the idea of a return of your investment in equipment and supplies to go into Gold Plating. A realistic projection is what you should have. To get a realistic projection, you have an assortment of factors to consider. Typically, people starting in business do not consider their time into the cost of the work. I know many people who do it exactly the same way.

  • EQUIPMENT COST. Before you can figure out the return on your investment, you must know what the equipment will cost.
  • COST OF CONSUMABLE SUPPLIES. These are the chemicals and other supplies you would consume in doing the work.
  • ACTUAL PROFITS. To understand a return on investment, you must understand it will take SALES to make the income. Income projections without realistic SALES PROJECTIONS your expected return on investment will take a long time to achieve. In simple terms, you will need to have CUSTOMERS who are willing to pay you for your services. Friends who want to have Gold on their vehicles, are not real customers.

To use a simple example, I will use a hypothetical figure of $1,000 for equipment and start up supplies cost for the project. Obviously, the equipment will last for many jobs. The supplies will be consumed.

We will hypothetically say the average work will produce a invoice for $100 and the cost of materials to do that work is $50.

In this hypothetical example, there is a profit of $50 per job. At a profit of $50 per job and a start up cost of $1,000 (with no allowance for additional overhead of any kind, because you would work out of your house or garage) you would need to do 20 jobs just to get your initial $1,000 back.

With 20 hypothetical jobs at a invoice of $100, you would have (20X$100) $2,000 in sales and $1,000 in profit.

With 20 hypothetical jobs at a invoice of $200, you would have (20X$200) $4,000 in sales and $3,000 in profit. This assumes you have the same cost per job at $50 and just charge more.

WHAT YOU CHARGE

CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE

IN YOUR PROFITS.

The figures used above are just an example of COSTS & PROFITS, not costs and or profits from GOLD PLATING.

For prices of our different Gold Plating equipment, you can check the HOME PAGE or go to the ORDER FORM.

Gold Plating is PROFITABLE.

TO SURVIVE, A BUSINESS MUST MAKE PROFITS

  • The price you charge can make a huge difference in your profitability!
  • Only PROFITABLE business survive!

Several questions.

  • Do you know 20 people today where you already know they want their scripts Gold Plated?
  • If you do not know 20 today, how long will it take you to find 20 who do?

If you do not know 20 now, it will probably take longer than you think it will to find 20. If you live in a rural setting, it will take a lot longer.

If you do not have a customer base today, you are starting from ZERO.

From ZERO it takes time to build customers.

From ZERO in the city, you will have sales potential based on the sheer number of people living in a large area.

From ZERO in the country means you have a smaller number of people to sell to and it will take you substantially longer to build your business.

FROM ZERO, you need to have a realistic business opportunity. What a realistic business opportunity means, in our opinion, is simple.

  • You MUST live in a large metropolitan area. A city with a population of 50,000 is probably a minimum size town. The exception is when you live in a small suburb of a really large metropolitan area/town. In a really large town, there are probably already a number of people offering Gold Plating Services. Check in your area and find out.
  • You MUST have an outside source of INCOME (another job) which will provide you with enough money to LIVE ON while you develop your Gold Plating business.

Without living in a large city, there is simply not enough sales potential for you to make much money. In a town of 10,000 people, there is just to limited a number of people to offer Gold Plating to for you to survive, and or, to make a living off of Gold Plating.

If you live in an area where you are in-between two large cities, say 30 miles from each, you may have a chance to grow a business. However, in cities of 50,000 or more, there is a high probability to find Restylers and Customizers who offer Gold Plating.

  • BEFORE YOU SPEND ANY MONEY ON ANY MACHINE FROM ANY SOURCE, YOU MUST CHECK OUT THE REALISTIC SALES POTENTIAL IN YOUR AREA.
  • IF YOU WAIT UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR EQUIPMENT TO CHECK THE REALITY OF YOUR LOCAL MARKET, YOU MAY FIND YOU MADE AN ERROR AND WILL WIND UP WITH AN OUT OF POCKET LOSS! THERE IS NOT MUCH OF A MARKET FOR UNUSED OR USED MOBILE GOLD PLATING MACHINES.

This is why we strongly recommend you keep your current job.

The reason to bring this is up not to scare you out of going into business. We want you to get into a potentially profitable business. If you live in a small town, you are not as likely to make money on Gold Plating as you are in some other way. Before you make any decision, check into your local market, checking now can save you money later!

  • Check the local YELLOW PAGES for listings of Automotive Accessory companies. Who are the Detailers Shops and Customers Shops in YOUR AREA. If you do not find any, perhaps there is a reason, LIMITED SALES POTENTIAL.
  • If you find MOBILE INSTALLERS, figure they are potentially going to be able to offer Gold Plating to the Car Dealers in your area.

HOW DO MOBILE INSTALLERS DO THEIR WORK?

Mobile Installers frequently operate out of their home, working in, or out of, a VAN. Working out of a VAN makes sense for a MOBILE installer. The VAN means their shop goes with them to each job. It is a plus to have everything you need in one place, like a shop.

With Mobile Gold Plating, the assorted Gold Plating Equipment & Supplies can fit into a small car. So, it is not necessary for you to spend money to purchase a van to do the work. This can keep your costs down and your PROFITS UP.

GOLD PLATING CHEMICALS should not FREEZE. If you operate in the colder climates, you need to figure out a system so you can remove ALL items that can be damaged by cold every night. This may mean parking in a heated garage or toting all products that can freeze into the house each night.

It is possible to offer a MOBILE installation center of your own. I know people who operate out of a compact car, doing restyling and customizing work, including gold plating, after they finish their DAY JOB.

In many operations, the spouse gets the calls for restyling and customizing work, including gold plating, during the day and schedules the work to be done later that night or at another time.

Many operations started this way and many still operate this way today, PROFITABLY.

If you were to decide to offer a mobile operation, you may be able to broaden your market area. However, remember, people like doing business with people they know and like. And, some of the potential dealer customers may not be able to work with an evening schedule, or whenever you get off of work. You may be able to go to an individuals home and do the Gold Plating work in their drive.

The owners of many restyling business I know of work for a large company, such as a General Motors assembly plant, on an AFTERNOON or a MIDNIGHT SHIFT and gets to the shop about in the morning. These are not new shops, the shops have run this way for years. Even after running a profitable shop for years, the owners keep their job with the large companies, like General Motors.

Still another idea may be for you to start small in a car. As we mentioned earlier, Mobile Gold Plating Equipment & Supplies can fit into a small car. So, it is not necessary for you to spend money to purchase a van to do the work. Keeping your costs down and your PROFITS UP.  Then, eventually you may grow to the point you have a portion of your operation in a large VAN or even a bigger STEP VAN type of vehicle. In a bigger vehicle you can carry an assortment of universally popular and universal fitting accessories you can install on almost any vehicle.

  • Typically the VAN will not require COMMERCIAL license plates or COMMERCIAL insurance. This can make your start up, or growing expense, lower.
  • The STEP VAN (looks like a BREAD truck or POTATO CHIP truck) type vehicles generally require COMMERCIAL plates and COMMERCIAL Insurance. This can get expensive.

If you use your personal vehicle for business, there are some tax advantages. For more information on this, see your accountant.

If you are making money, the larger vehicle will let you carry more and organize what you carry better. So, at that point, when you are making money, the expense is of a lesser importance.

I purchased a small (short) aluminum step van from the Chicago area back in 1986. As I recall, I paid under $1,000 for it. The cargo area was just 6 feet long. I drove it everywhere. When I used it on the road, I had it in 6 different states. The vehicle was easy to maneuver into small parking spots in the Import Car Dealers parking lots. The FULL SIZE Chevrolet Van I owned was harder to park. The aluminum step van is a 1971 model with a 6 cylinder Chevrolet engine and Chevrolet chassis parts. Service was, and is, SIMPLE. The inside had shelving on the sides and it was IDEAL for running a small Gold Plating and Restyling and Customizing operation out of. It could carry everything I would need and more. Being aluminum, it did not show rust and I knew my investment would last for years and years. I still have the aluminum step van.

IF YOU USE A VEHICLE IN YOUR BUSINESS,

KEEP ALL RECEIPTS FOR THAT VEHICLE.

We are not a TAX ADVISOR, and we are not giving TAX ADVICE. We are aware that there are several TAX ADVANTAGES when operating a vehicle and running a business. Depreciation is one. Expensing the vehicle at a rate of so many cents per mile is another. The IRS changes the rules and rates so you need to check and verify this information.

To the extent you use a vehicle for business use, the IRS will allow you, we are told, 31.5 cents per mile in 1997, while being used for business use, to cover the operational costs of the vehicle. If you get a vehicle and set it up as your MOBILE SHOP (you must keep a written records of all trips and use of the vehicle) you can figure out the total miles per year, based on your written records, and multiply that number of miles against that years allowed amount.

If the rate per mile is 31.5 cents a mile and you drive the vehicle 2,500 miles during a year for WORK and in SALES TRIPS to generate work, you can write off the appropriate amount. At 31.5 cents per mile times 2,500 miles, it equals a $787.50 business expense deduction.

Be aware, the mileage rate the IRS allows includes all MAINTENANCE on the vehicle. Remember, you must keep accurate records if you expect to use this TAX BREAK. Without accurate records, you may have the deduction DISALLOWED, by the IRS, during an AUDIT.

WE SUGGEST YOU CHECK WITH A TAX ADVISOR

ON ALL TAX MATTERS.

How much money you make doing Gold Plating hinges on many different factors. Your location is important, the people you know is important and how you go to market is important to.

  • Again, I know of a person in town of approximately 10,000 making $3,000 a year doing part time work after they get off of their REGULAR JOB.
  • Others who have an existing Automotive Accessory Shop do better. On average, $10,000 a year in extra income is typical.
  • There are others who work at it full time, with a large following of customers in the automotive industry, such as Car Dealers, and so on. These people make more.

You have to figure out exactly where you are in that description. That will give you an idea of the type of money you can make.

The primary way to make money is by doing Automotive Scripts. This is what people are willing to pay for.

There are occasionally jobs that you may get because people learn you do Gold Plating. These are generally NOVELTY items.

Plumbing fixtures is one of the novelty items. Businesses already exist to TANK PLATE, and give a special TEMPERATURE BASED exterior coating on, and GUARANTEE the quality of their work, on plumbing fixtures. It is not to say you would NEVER have an opportunity to Gold Plate a plumbing fixture. What it says is you are not likely to get any work like that. Plus, what work you get will probably wind up being a larger problem for you.

Popular Science ran a recent article about plumbing manufacturers who are putting a gold colored finish on some plumbing fixtures. I can assure you they are not doing it with these types of mobile gold plating machines. You can find out more about this Popular Science article in our Frequently Asked Questions page.

I overheard a story that Oprah Winfrey spent $25,000 during the Summer of 1997 to get a gold plated toilet. I do not know if this is true or not. Even if it is, that seems to be a very small market. I am sure she did not have a MOBILE GOLD PLATER come in and do the work! And, the $25,000 toilet is not a likely market for you.

In all the years I have had Gold Plating Equipment, no one asked me to gold plate any of their bath room fixtures for them, and have had all of the equipment, for YEARS.

Gold Plating Bathroom fixtures is an unrealistic sales area for you.
