Information on shipping chemicals through the US
Post Office.
Occasionally we are asked by International Buyers
(after some buyers hear the cost of Air Freight) if we can simply use the MAIL
system to send the chemicals because the cost of International Air Freight is so
high. While we appreciate the concern over the cost of shipping, because
shipping is an EXPENSE for everyone and not a profit item for us or for the
person getting the shipment, we are required by law to properly Package, Label,
Mark, and disclose the contents of the boxes we ship the chemicals in.
It is illegal to ship chemicals through the US
Post Office.
To answer questions on what can and what cannot
be shipped through the Post Office we are including an image of a US Post
Office publication that explains things.
We are required by law to provide HAZARDOUS
MATERIALS WARNING LABELS on all packages we ship that contain Hazardous
Chemicals.
Under the title of NOT ACCEPTABLE, shown directly
below, you will find several items.
Class 6 is Toxic / Poisonous, which is part of
the description that we are required to ship the Gold Plating Solution under.
Class 8 is Corrosives, which is part of the
description that we are required to ship the Chrome Stripper under.
These US Postal Requirements explain that they
specifically prohibit the mailing of chemicals.
