Is all BRUSH PLATING the same? Not exactly. Although they use very similar technology. The best way to explain the difference is to give you a simple example. To start with, the chemicals are carried to the work surface by a synthetic anode cover. To give you an idea of what size that item is, we are including an image of one on a dollar bill.
The size of this particular synthetic anode cover is essentially the same as the synthetic anode cover provided with any and all of the brush plating systems provides by other vendors. This helps to level the playing field so you get a better and or more objective view of the aspects involved in brush type gold plating. OK, the CONSUMER APPLICATION of the MOBILE BRUSH TYPE GOLD PLATING SYSTEM is designed to Gold Plate the CHROME scripts and emblems on automobiles, Boats, and so on are basically all the same. The process is simple, strip the chrome, activate the nickel and deposit / bond the gold to the exposed and activated nickel. What we would call the INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION type of MOBILE BRUSH TYPE GOLD PLATING SYSTEMS are intended to do a different job. The industrial applications are specifically designed to apply assorted finishes on assorted items. The primary purposes of the INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION are;
These are just a few examples of commonly accepted brush plating activities. As you can see, we put decorative as the last item on this list. The reason is simple, the INDUSTRIAL type of Gold Plating is not the same as you would find in the typical type of Gold Plating systems sold for the purpose of Gold Plating chrome scripts and emblems on vehicles, Boats and so on. The INDUSTRIAL applications are far different than the CONSUMER applications. As what we call a MOBILE INSTALLER, the average person making money by Gold Plating CONSUMER items, you are not likely to get into INDUSTRIAL SALES. The INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS high currents are used to create a very dense deposit. The CONSUMER APPLICATIONS us relatively low currents (12 volts) to create the desired deposits. In simple terms, using an INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION to deposit a thin but very dense coating of chrome on a bearing surface, one small section at a time, can save the down-time lost while doing a complete tear down of a large piece of industrial equipment. It makes sense. If you are looking to do INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS, you need to go to other sources for INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS. Please email us at smcauto@dmci.net and we will respond with information. If you are looking to do CONSUMER APPLICATIONS, we have what you need!
