only $995, is suitable for a person doing substantial gold plating work such
as scripts on a vehicle, industrial and similar operations that work out of
a Laboratory, SHOP, or processing line at 12 volts and up to 35 amps. The
35-amp power supply (UL and CSA listed) model offers a high quality
performance in a generally fixed location because of the 20 pound weight of
the 35-amp power supply.

popular, a 30-amp
Gold Plating system for only $995. The 30-amp mobile power supply (UL and
CSA listed) model offers high power (up to 30-amps) and combined with the
low 4.5 pound weight of the 30-amp mobile Power Supply, benefits all MOBILE
Gold Platers. The mobile Gold Plating power supply runs on standard
household current, meaning 110 / 120 Volts AC and the same system will work
on 220 /240 Volts AC for International use too. The dual voltage power
supply converts either AC voltage into 12 Volts DC operating with an
automatic amp draw as needed, up to 30-amps, for top quality mobile Gold
Plating. This is the ideal gold plating system.

- System 4 is the 30-amp Gold Plating System
with meters at $945. The only difference between the 30-amp mobile power
supply and the 30-amp mobile power supply with meters is the two meters on
the face of the power supply with meters. The meters on the 30-amp mobile
power supply simply give you a visual. You do not have any adjustment
because the 30-amp power supply automatically adjusts for the power and
amperage you need. The meters are strictly decorative and informative of
what is going on. Since gold platers typically are looking at the piece they
are working on, the meters are of little practical value to a gold plater.

As you look over assorted vendors of gold plating
equipment, you may wonder why we only charge $995 for our most popular complete

expect to work in a mobile operation, or that you will work some in the shop and
that you will do some work in a mobile operation. In either event, it seems

The 30-amp mobile Gold Plating system is
outselling the 25-amp and the 35-amp systems for mobile Gold Plating operations.
We do have two models for a person doing most of
the gold plating work in an industrial application in a Laboratory, a SHOP or
Processing Line, depending on the Gold Plating work they do.
We have the version we call the 25-amp Gold
Plating system where adjustable voltage is important. It can adjust down to 6
volts DC or go up to 12 volts DC. The 25-amp Gold Plating System has the same
basic components as the 35-amp system except for the smaller amperage power
supply. A 25-amp Gold Plating system sells for $965.
The next size up is the 35-amp Gold Plating
system. The 35-amp system works best at 12 volts DC and is ideal for gold
plating slightly larger items. The 35-amp Gold Plating system sells for $995.
The only difference between the 25-amp Gold
Plating system and the 35-amp Gold Plating system is in the amps and volts.
The 25-amp system can go to as low as 6 volts for very small and delicate
applications. The most common gold plating application for larger item is 12
volts DC and in these applications, chrome stripping is faster with up to
35-amps. The only price difference reflects the different costs of the two
power supplies.
You need at least a 25-amp power supply to strip
the chrome.
The nickel activating step and gold plating step
of the processes use only a few amps.
A complete and comprehensive manual comes with
the 30-amp, 25-amp or the 35-amp Gold Plating systems.
The entire Gold Plating process on chrome parts
is so simple you will be surprised at it how easy it is to do.
It is easy to learn to do quality Gold Plating
too.
The Gold Plating process is simple.
1. Strip the chrome.
2. Activate the nickel.
3. Deposit and molecularly bond 24K gold to the
exposed & activated nickel.
It is actually that simple to do the gold plating
and it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to Gold Plate the 5 chrome scripts on the
average vehicle.
Your cost to do the Gold Plating? It is an
average of only $10 to $15 per vehicle, depending on the vehicle.
The Toyota SUV has up to 10 scripts and emblems
so it is going to take more gold which is why you charge more to do the work on
that vehicle.
You do the Gold Plating work with the chrome
scripts right on the vehicle; the Gold Plating process is "electro
chemical" and does not hurt the paint on the vehicle. Paint does not
conduct electricity.
There are several methods of mobile brush plating
to go over.
We use and recommend the three-step process. Strip the chrome,
activate the nickel and deposit and molecularly bond 24K gold to the exposed and activated
nickel. This is an old and well-known process. It works all the time without a
problem and provides a durable finish.
There is a so-called two step process. This is
where the chemical used to strip the chrome is also used to activate the nickel.
This does work. However, it can, and does, cause problems because of the
concentrated strength of the chemicals. It can damage the paint on a vehicle.
Damaging the paint on a vehicle can ruin your whole day.
There is the so-called one step gold plating
process. This is where only one electro chemical step is involved. The best news
we have on this is that although the so-called one step gold plating process
wears off and or discolors, it can be fixed. The solution is simple. Remove the
one step gold from the surface of the part, then strip off the chrome, activate
the nickel and finally deposit the 24K gold.
In years of our experience, we prefer the
three-step gold plating process. It works.
Average Gold Plating work at retail is about $200
to $250 for the average car, depending on the vehicle and related matters.
Wholesale work for Car Dealers is about 1/2 of
the going retail price.
As to doing the work, you need to figure that the
average vehicle has 5 scripts.
At a RETAIL price of $250, that works out to
about $50 per script, although the work is seldom broken down into a price per
piece since other costs are involved, such as your time and so on. When you
consider the time it takes you to get to the location and get out your equipment
and supplies, it only takes a bit longer to do 5 scripts on a vehicle, than to
do 4. As you do your retail price calculations, the $200 to $250 figure must
take into consideration what you have to do to get the work.
If you do gold plating on a high end Sport
Utility Vehicle, SUV, or the new terminology of Sport Utility Truck, SUT, it
changes things. The number of scripts increase and the RETAIL price can increase
to $300 to $350 for the average SUV/SUT depending on the actual number of chrome
scripts there are on the SUV/SUT. If you use a simple to calculate cost of $2
per script/emblem, you can see that it is only a slight increase in your cost to
do the SUV/SUT. Remember there are more scripts and emblems on the SUV/SUT and
that means you can, and should, charge more. After all, it is going to take you
longer to do the work and your time is worth money.
- Remember a simple fact. No one needs to have a
Gold Plated part on their vehicle to be able to drive to work or to anywhere
else.
- Anyone who wants Gold Plated parts on their
vehicle so they can show off will pay for it.
