What about AUTOMATIC versus MANUAL

With an automatic adjusting power
supply, it is not necessary to have a manually adjustable power supply.
Think of it like this. Look at a lamp
in your house.
If you put a 25 watt bulb in it, the
lamp lights up with 25 watts of power.
If you put a 75 watt bulb in it, the
lamp lights up with 75 watts of power.
The lamp did it AUTOMATICALLY.
The lamp provided the amount of
electrical power necessary for each application, automatically.

lets use you car as an example, presuming you have an automatic transmission in

To get the vehicle moving you slide
the shifting level from PARK past REVERSE and NEUTRAL into DRIVE. Once you are
in drive, all you have to do is press on the accelerator. As the vehicle picks
up speed, the engine speed and other determining factors AUTOMATICALLY shift the
transmission UP one gear. As you continue to accelerate, the transmission will
continue to ship UP until it gets to the final HIGH GEAR. Then, AUTOMATICALLY,
as you slow down, the transmission will AUTOMATICALLY shift down.
