Why 25 AMPS, 30 AMP or 35 AMPS is important in a Gold Plating System.

The reason is simple. The most common problem mobile brush type gold platers have is not stripping the chrome enough.

25 AMPS is the minimum suggest amount of AMPS to strip chrome.

30 AMPS is the suggested amount of AMPS to strip chrome.

More than 35 amps is unnecessary.

Our most popular Gold Plating system works with 30 AMPS.

Having the minimum suggested amount of amps (25) will do the work. We work with a 25 amp PYRAMID Power Supply system in our laboratory on a regular basis.

You can work to strip the chrome with a 10 amp power supply. EVENTUALLY the 10 amp power supply will  strip off the chrome but it is not a practical use of your time. With a minimum of 25 amps, you will get the chrome stripping job done much quicker.

Having the suggested amount of amps (30) provides the extra power as well as not taxing the ability of the 25 amp system on some jobs. We prefer the 30 amp over the 25 amp power supply and will continue to recommend the larger and more powerful units to customers. We will continue to suggest against anything higher than 35 amps as being way more than necessary and potentially a problem.

We do not see any realistic need for a power supply with more than 30 amps in the brush plating field.

The price difference between the 25 amp and 35 amp PYRAMID Power Supply is only $30. The entire balance of the Gold Plating system is the same.

The latest version of our Gold Plating System is powered by a dual voltage 30 amp power supply. The price is the same as the 35 amp system and is a better value..
